Ice Cream Social Kick Off

FRIDAY - August 23rd - 6pm to 7:30pm

MDHAC is proud to present Daniel Perez-Martinez, a Deaf artist from El Salvador, who moved to the U.S. in 2021 and now lives in Parsons, KS. With over ten years of experience, he creates children's book illustrations, murals, teaches art, and works as a tattoo artist. He is being honored as a featured guest during the next Deaf Culture Day in Kansas City! Come join us and meet Daniel as he shares his experiences, cultural backgrounds, fluency in Salvadoran Sign Language, and journey in learning American Sign Language.

In partnership with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas School for the Deaf, and The Whole Person, this event is free! If you would like to make a donation during the ice cream social, a suggested gift of $10 or more will be gladly accepted to support MDHAC’s programming and operations, including free museum admissions.

MDHAC se enorgullece en presentar a Daniel Perez-Martinez, un artista sordo de El Salvador, que se mudó a los EE.UU. en 2021 y ahora vive en Parsons, KS. Con más de diez años de experiencia, crea ilustraciones para libros infantiles, murales, enseña arte y trabaja como tatuador. Será honrado como invitado destacado durante el próximo Día de la Cultura Sorda en Kansas City. ¡Únete a nosotros y conoce a Daniel mientras comparte sus experiencias, antecedentes culturales, fluidez en el Lenguaje de Señas Salvadoreño y su camino en el aprendizaje del Lenguaje de Señas Americano!


En colaboración con el Museo de Arte Nelson-Atkins, la Escuela para Sordos de Kansas y The Whole Person, ¡este evento es gratuito! Si desea hacer una donación durante la reunión social con helado, se aceptará con gusto una contribución sugerida de $10 o más para apoyar la programación y las operaciones de MDHAC, incluyendo entradas gratuitas al museo.
